Privacy Policy

Clayton Ledger is a free local-news newsletter covering public meetings in Clayton, Missouri. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how we handle it. The plain version: we collect as little as possible, use it only to run the newsletter, and never sell it.

What we collect

  • If you subscribe: your email address, and optionally your name.
  • If you leave a tip or pay for a subscription: payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — only a record of your payment and subscription status.
  • Basic usage data: our publishing platform (Ghost) records limited analytics, such as whether a newsletter email was opened, which we use only to understand whether the newsletter is useful.

How we use it

To send you the meeting-summary posts you subscribed to and occasional account emails (a sign-in link, a receipt), and to manage your subscription or tip. We do not use your information for anything else.

Who we share it with

We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only with the service providers that make the newsletter work, and only as needed to operate it: Ghost (our publishing and membership platform), Mailgun (Sinch, which delivers our email), and Stripe (which processes payments). Each maintains its own privacy practices for the data it handles on our behalf.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by managing your account. To have your information deleted, email us at admin@actalux.org and we will remove it.
